Aftercare Instructions For Tattoos:

If Saniderm/Second Skin is Used: Do not remove Saniderm for at least 3-5 days after being tattooed, Unless it begins to leak or peel off. If this occurs, go ahead and take it off. It’s best to remove while in the shower. Immediately after removing, wash with unscented soap and apply unscented lotion or Aquaphor. Clean 1-2 times daily for at least a week, applying lotion when it becomes dry/flaky. If you notice any redness or irritation around the Saniderm bandage, you may be experiencing a mild skin irritation/allergic reaction and we recommend removing the bandage immediately.

If Saniderm/Second Skin was not used: For the first 3-5 days, it is imperative that you wash your tattoo with unscented soap at least twice a day. Pat dry with a paper towel and then apply a thin coat of Aquaphor healing ointment. After 3-5 days of using Aquaphor you can switch to an unscented lotion, applying as needed throughout the day when your tattoo becomes dry/flaky. Avoid long exposure to sunlight and swimming/submerging in water for at least 3 weeks. Avoid exposing your healing tattoo to sources of infection, such as: dirt, unclean water, pet hair/dander, etc. If you believe your tattoo is infected please contact your artist or doctor and consult with them to determine if it is infected.

Aftercare instructions for Piercings:

Clean your piercing 2-3 times daily with .09% sodium chloride saline solution for at least 30 days. Use a paper towel to dry. Avoid cleaning with a cotton ball or Q-tip as the thread-like fibers may cause irritation. Do not use alcohol, soap, or oils. Do not touch your piercing with unwashed hands. If you got a Lip Piercing you will need to use Listerine or moutwash for the next month, 2-3 times a day. If you got a Facial Piercing, avoid your usual skincare/makeup around the piercing for at least a month. You will need to keep the jewelry we pierced you with in for at least a month (2-3 months if it’s cartilage) and keep jewelry in it steadily for at least the next year or it will close. Do not submerge your piercing underwater or swim while it’s healing. Please listen to the aftercare speech given by our piercer, if you have any concerns about a healing piercing please send us a message or give us a call!
